Default Officer Chat

I think we should "Officer Chat" in our chat menu. That way, the officers and leaders can discuse issues regaurding the guild without the guild members knowing about it. I think it would be great, but i wanted to post and get everyones views on it. I sent a letter to Arena Net about it and they said they would check into it and wanted me to do some "finding out" on some Forums. But what do you all think about it?

Used to have it when I played DAoC, and it worked okay. I am for it.

It'll make things alot easier to discuss by officers, and it'll cost ANet like an hour to make so.. Why not?

What can you discuss that might be so secretive?

Kicking people? I think people would rather you NOT talk behind their backs.

Lol. My Guild's members would hate that XD

It would probably just create ill-feeling as members would think that officers were talking behind their backs.

Anyhow, /unsigned. -.-

Well it's just a suggestion for easier guild chat. Some guilds may use it for talking behind their backs, but the probably do it anyways, lol. But anyways i know Officers in my guild have a lot to talk about when it comes to members in our guild. We are picky, and we want our guild to be a great experience for all our members. But it's just to get your opinions on it. Thanks for the answers though, even the negative ones =P

this feature in big guilds can be even more usefull

creating a chat room would be the best tho imo

advanced chat room system , create , then peope can join ( good old /j #roomname ) , leader can kick , chat room list would be also nice. basacly a irc chat program. with basic comands .

i think anything that is for puting people in groups in good

wisper is 1 on 1

party is max 8

guild is max 100

irc system would be , no limits

and free from guilds , you could make a channel for some purpuse , then all leave the channel desapears.

Whisper is not going to be helpful imo, every person would need to repeat each sentence in a whisper to each officer. Imagine the fun in that.

Party, eh maybe but often time officers are in different, place, in different parties, doing different things. Its not ideal to have your officer leave his group to simply dicuss something, esp if that officer is in the middle of a mission.

Whisper ? To all officers ? Sorry dont have enough time for that.

I have often scoured that there isnt a /c for command chat - letting you talk to all officers without ruffeling the feathers of the entire guild. What if you dont trust everyone in the guild? There definately needs to be some sort of command chat. You wouldnt just make any random invite to your guild an officer would you, if you did you risk that player deleting your entire guild while you were sleeping. So yes, i agree totally that there needs to be some sort of /c chat to discuss non lemming plans for your guild, so the spy's have a harder time finding out what build you are concocting to launch.

lol, /c chat , battle isles ,this is begining to sound too much like planetside. Whats next Battle Frame Robots ?

Agreed, pretty much the only way I can talk to my officers all at once is through MSN. Would be nice if I didn't have my friends talking to me while I'm trying to game.

All members can access the guild hall, defeating the purpose of secret meetings =P.

isnt that kind of wrong? i could be like "hey i really hate this member" and have a hole huge conversation about that. honestly thats just wrong, but i can see where ur going with this. I suppose there would be some advantiges of haveing it but, we all know peeps are going to abuse.

Simple. Team up in guild halls.
Also they're rarely used anyways...

Well the thing is, people might abuse it to talking bad about each other. But they probably do it anyways. And it's group decision when it comes to kicking members. My guild is always busy and has alot of people in it and we can't always be in a party with each other, or meet some where. And we are normally all online so posting in our forums doesn't really do anything. It's mostly there for the newer guild members if they have questions or need price checks we have them posted and everything. And all the officers normally help everyone out. But like I said in the beginning just a neat suggestion. I had it in WoW and a couple of other games i played before this one, and loved it. But thanks for the inputs. Can't wait to see what you all post next, lol. =P Hope to see you all in Game.

when your talking to officers your not only talking about kicking but possible promotions, demotions, recruiting, kicking , and stuff related to gvg. im an active member in my guild, and it would work great, instead of whispering each guy and copying and pasting the same message
